You can download the Compass School Manager App via the App store or Play store.
When first setting up the Compass app, you will need to select St Lawrence Primary School and then use your Compass login details to sign in. Please contact the office if you need these details.
The mobile app is designed for quick access to the most commonly used actions and information. To use the full range of options, please visit the website slwderrimut-vic.compass.education
When you log into the App, you will be on the Home Screen where you will see any children you have at the school, the NewsFeed and the Navigation Bar at the bottom of the screen.
From the home screen you can click on your child's photo to go to their profile screen.
The will be a series of tabs that you can swipe across to move through.
Dashboard - This tab will show some basic information about your child and their ID photo image if there is one on file. It will also show their schedule for today's date. You can click the blue icon in the bottom right to view another date.
Approvals - This tab shows any attendance notes/approvals your child currently has. You can click the blue icon in the bottom right to add an attendance note.
Reports - This tab allows parents to download any reports currently available for their child.
You can click to 'Notifications' to view any push notifications in the menu at the bottom of the home screen to see any notifications you have received.
To receive notifications on your phone, this needs to be set up in the settings of your phone. Go to Settings > Notifications and find Compass in the list of apps. From here click Compass and select 'Allow Notifications'. For more details on this, please follow the links for your device below:
Clicking the 'Schedule' button will let you see upcoming school calendar events. Click the arrows to move through the dates or select a date using the calendar icon.
The 'Shortcuts' button on the home screen gives you quick access to add an attendance note.
If you have more than one student at the school, you will be asked to select which child the note is being added for.
In the note screen, please select the reason from the available options listed.
Please add any applicable details/comments and click on the 'Start Date' and/or 'End Date' fields to add in the correct information for the absence note.
When all content has been added to the absence note, click the 'Add Attendance Note' button and the absence note will be added to the student's record.
Responding to Unexplained Absence Notifications
If your child is absent without explaination when the morning roll is marked, you will receive an SMS message from COMPASS letting you know.
COMPASS does not receive SMS replies. Instead, click on the one-time link in the message, and you will have the opportunity to explain your child’s absence.
Welcome and Learning Conversations
Clicking 'More' on the menu at the bottom of the home screen will expand a range of options, one of which is to make conference bookings.
After clicking the Conferences button, you will be shown the meeting cycles that are currently open. To make a booking, please click on the child you wish to book for.
To delete a booking, you can click on the existing booking and choose the 'Remove Booking' option.
If you would like to view your bookings for a Welcome or Learning Conversations, you can click the applicable cycle and then click the book icon in the top right hand corner.
If you have children at more than one school that uses Compass, you can use the 'Switch Accounts' option in the Tools menu to add your parent user account for each school and then click into 'Switch Accounts' to toggle between the accounts.
